I spent my last afternoon in Kyoto exploring the area at the base of Arashiyama (mountain) on the western edge of Kyoto:

Tenryu-ji: one of the main temples of the Rinzai school of Buddhism.


Just outside the north gates of Tenryu-ji lies the famous bamboo grove.
